SWEA, Swedish Women's Educational Association, Inc., is a global organization for Swedish and Swedish speaking women who are currently living or have lived abroad.
Joining all members via our common language, ethnicity, and culture, SWEA becomes both a meeting place and a safety net having connections around the world. This makes life easier while living abroad and also supports members when moving back to Sweden.
SWEA's Goal
...is to preserve the Swedish language, support and spread Swedish culture and traditions, help create personal and professional connections, as well as establish a world wide network of SWEA members.
SWEA Supports
...education via scholarships and various projects with ties to Sweden.
SWEA International hands out two scholarships. One for researching the Swedish language, literature or society, and the other for studies regarding cross cultural relations. We also choose and honor the "Swedish Woman of the Year." The recipients are introduced at the annual Swedish Supper, that SWEA members from all over the world attend. SWEA Boston has it's own scholarship independent of this. Read more about SWEA Boston Scholarship...
